Here at Ladles of Love, we know the power of partnerships. Over the years we’re proud to have built some fantastic relationships with passionate, caring businesses – giving back to the community is easy if we work together.
Check out just some of our amazing long-term partners below. These are businesses giving back to the community by working with us to donate money, time or produce to make sure our kitchens keep going. Read on to get inspired!
We were proud to partner with the awesome team at Pesto Princess on the #BuyOneGiveOne one campaign in 2017. For every delicious Pesto Princess soup sold (our favourite was the red lentil), a donation was made to Ladles of Love. This sponsored a meal for someone in need. At the end of the campaign we were thrilled to receive a cheque for R40,000 – every cent of which has gone back into our kitchens and feeding schemes that feed hungry adults and children across Cape Town.
We just launched the 2018 campaign – go get your favourite now!
Our original and longest standing sponsor is Doppio Zero – they’ve been sponsoring the food at our weekly Tuesday kitchen every week since we began serving nearly 4 years ago. They also allow us to make use of their kitchen and facilities on a regular basis so we can cook delicious soups for our various projects.
Visit them for tasty thin-crust gourmet pizzas, a huge range of pastas and cafe style Mediterranean food – delicious!
You can find them in the Mandela Rhodes Place building on the corner of St George’s Mall & Church St. Our founder, Danny, is the manager here – why not pop in and say hi!
We are delighted to welcome Disney South Africa on board as a partner for Mandela Day 2018. We’re facilitating an awesome day for their team at a school right here in Cape Town. Disney volunteers will be heading to the school to meet the students and serve them a delicious Ladles of Love lunch. After lunch we have a real treat in store – a private cinema-style screening of ‘Moana’ for the children to enjoy! Disney will also be providing gifts for each child. It’s an incredibly special, fun experience for these children and we can’t wait to share this day with them.
Here’s Danny, our founder, meeting a Stormtrooper at the Disney South Africa offices!
Regular, long-term partners Sir Fruit often donate litres and litres of juice for us to use in our kitchens, providing a welcome and refreshing treat for many people.
As well as providing juice for our soup kitchens, Sir Fruit also often sponsor special events – such as launch days of our feeding schemes at schools or at Christmas lunch for the homeless. At our 2017 Christmas event, they provided juice for the 600+ attendees.
Their fruity flavours are always well received by kids and adults alike!
The International Association For Human Values was created by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as a global platform for humanitarian initiatives that solve problems by uplifting human values. Through its country organizations and partners, IAHV conducts service projects and raises funds for humanitarian and disaster relief initiatives throughout the world. Check out the story of how Ladles of Love started and you’ll see that founder Danny Diliberto was inspired by what he learned on one of their breathing and meditation courses. We are proud to have the support of this wonderful organisation.
Deer Park Cafe came on board as a sponsor in 2017 – they cook up their own delicious soup that we serve every Thursday. You can visit Deer Park in Vredehoek to make the most of their lovely setting, alfresco tables and tasty food.
Slippery Spoon Kitchen is a bespoke catering company that specialises in preparing creative food for weddings, private gatherings and corporate events. And now, they cook for our homeless friends each week!
Once a week we get to share some of the delicious fresh baked goods from Food Lover’s Market with our homeless guests. The St George’s Mall branch donates their unsold produce to our kitchen each Tuesday.
Protea Hotels partnered with us for our 2017 Mandela Day project – they sponsored food and warm beanie hats for more than 670 homeless individuals.
Their team also participated in the event itself, arriving early to help make an impressive 670 sandwiches in just 67 minutes!
Each of our guests enjoyed a hot bowl of soup, bread, a fresh made sandwich and a cool drink – along with receiving their warm winter beanie.
2 Fellas Media specialises in the hospitality industry in Cape Town. They have filmed many Ladles of Love events and kitchens for us, creating awesome little videos that we’ve used to raise awareness about our projects and the work that we are doing. They also captured many shots of us in action that you might have seen here on our website or on our social media. Thanks to their Instaboost tool, we’ve also been able to reach a bigger audience on Instagram.
Check out the film they made of 2017’s Mandela Day stationery drive here.
Holiday Inn Express Cape Town City Centre is staffed by an amazing bunch of people – they are a perfect example of businesses giving back to the community and making a real difference. Not only do they regularly fundraise to support our various project and events, their team joins us to help run them aswell.
We know we can depend on them to help us regularly – they bring manpower, willing hands and best of all, an infectious and uplifting energy to everything they do.
Thank you Holiday Inn!

In November 2018, Danny undertook The Homeless Challenge – a 55 hour taster of what life is really like for people living on the streets. As part of this mission to find out more about the issues facing our city and our homeless brothers and sisters, we decided to make a documentary to share it with you all.
Oil & More, one of our longest supplier partners, have helped to make this possible by partially sponsoring the making of the film. We hope to share the finished film with you all in January 2019!
Soul Donations are our go-to partners when we need to collect items for a group or organisation in need for The Love Can Project. Believing that one man’s waste is another man’s treasure – they collect shoes, clothes, toys and books to redistribute.
Our bread for the homeless soup kitchens is sponsored each week by BP Airport & BP Osman. Thanks to them, we’re able to give a serving of fresh bread with each bowl we serve, and sometimes we can even give out extra slices for people to enjoy later on.
