Here at Ladles of Love, we know the power of partnerships. Over the years we’re proud to have built some fantastic relationships with passionate, caring businesses – giving back to the community is easy if we work together.
Check out just some of our amazing long-term partners below. These are businesses giving back to the community by working with us to donate money, time or produce to make sure our kitchens keep going. Read on to get inspired!
We are proud to partner with the awesome team at Pesto Princess on the #BuyOneGiveOne one campaign each year. For every delicious Pesto Princess soup sold (our favourite’s the red lentil- divine!), a donation of R2 is made to Ladles of Love soup kitchens. Every cent goes back into our kitchens and feeding schemes that feed hungry adults and children across Cape Town.
The 2019 campaign is well underway – go get yours now! Because when you buy one, you give one.
Our original and longest standing sponsor is Doppio Zero – they’ve been sponsoring the food at our weekly Tuesday kitchen every week since we began serving over 5 years ago. They’ve also allowed us to make use of their kitchen and facilities on a regular basis so we can cook delicious soups for our various projects.
Visit them for tasty thin-crust gourmet pizzas, a huge range of pastas and cafe style Mediterranean food – delicious!
You can find them in the Mandela Rhodes Place building on the corner of St George’s Mall & Church St.
We were delighted to welcome Disney South Africa on board as a partner for Mandela Day 2018. We facilitated an awesome day for their team at a school right here in Cape Town. Disney volunteers headed to the school to meet the students and served them a delicious Ladles of Love lunch. After lunch was a private cinema-style screening of ‘Moana’ for the children to enjoy! Disney provided gifts for each child.
Here’s Danny, our founder, meeting a Stormtrooper at the Disney South Africa offices!
Regular, long-term partners Sir Fruit often donate litres and litres of juice for us to use in our kitchens, providing a welcome and refreshing treat for many people.
As well as providing juice for our soup kitchens, Sir Fruit also often sponsor special events – such as launch days of our feeding schemes at schools or at Christmas lunch for the homeless. At our Christmas events, they have regularly provided juice for the 600+ attendees.
Their fruity flavours are always well received by kids and adults alike!
The International Association For Human Values was created by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as a global platform for humanitarian initiatives that solve problems by uplifting human values. Through its country organizations and partners, IAHV conducts service projects and raises funds for humanitarian and disaster relief initiatives throughout the world. Check out the story of how Ladles of Love started and you’ll see that founder Danny Diliberto was inspired by what he learned on one of their breathing and meditation courses. We are proud to have the support of this wonderful organisation.
Deer Park Cafe came on board as a sponsor in 2017 – they cook up their own delicious soup that we serve every Thursday. You can visit Deer Park in Vredehoek to make the most of their lovely setting, alfresco tables and tasty food.
Dolce Bakery make some of the finest cakes, wraps and bagels in town – and they have plenty of vegan options available too! It’s thanks to them that we often have sweet treats and extras available for our guests.
Barbara Lellyett is responsible for our awesome logos for The Love Can Project and The Munch Club. She also designed our flyers, pop-up banners, event posters and more – she’s a very talented lady who has dedicated a lot of her time to our mission.
UCOOK is South Africa’s favourite dinner kit, sourcing ethically and locally grown ingredients from small-scale farmers and delivering them to your door in the perfect portions, along with simple recipe cards.
They support Ladles of Love every week by contributing fresh, tasty soup for use in our kitchens. Thanks to them we can ensure we have enough for every hungry guest.
Exact clothing stores is part of the Foschini Group and if you looking for value, variety, quality and fashionability then they have you covered with everyday value clothing and footwear for children (3-12 years) and adults. They also have an adorable new baby range for ages 0 – 36 months.
Exact first sponsored the last term of Prestwich School in 2018, sending a group of team members weekly to assist us in serving the kids a fresh bowl of soup. In 2019, after searching for a school together, they decided to fund our Munch Club towards The Valley Primary School for 2019. As a result we have, together, been able to serve 120 kids a freshly prepared meal daily during school term.
Our bread for the homeless soup kitchens is sponsored each week by BP Airport & BP Osman. Thanks to them, we’re able to give a serving of fresh bread with each bowl we serve, and sometimes we can even give out extra slices for people to enjoy later on.
2 Fellas Media specialises in the hospitality industry in Cape Town. They have filmed many Ladles of Love events and kitchens for us, creating awesome little videos that we’ve used to raise awareness about our projects and the work that we are doing. They also captured many shots of us in action that you might have seen here on our website or on our social media. Thanks to their Instaboost tool, we’ve also been able to reach a bigger audience on Instagram.
Check out the film they made of 2017’s Mandela Day stationery drive here.

In November 2018, Danny undertook The Homeless Challenge – a 55 hour taster of what life is really like for people living on the streets. As part of this mission to find out more about the issues facing our city and our homeless brothers and sisters, we decided to make a documentary to share it with you all.
Oil & More, one of our longest supplier partners, have helped to make this possible by partially sponsoring the making of the film. We hope to share the finished film with you all in January 2019!
