ENTRY CRITERIA

  1. Contestant to hold a Valid SA Identity Document
  2. Contestant to be 20 years old or older
  3. Contestant entering must live in the Cape Town or Cape Peninsula designated area.
  4. Enterprise must be registered for a minimum of 12 months (1 year) and no more than five (5) years trading. Should the enterprise not be officially registered, tangible proof of trading must be available to verify and back up the claim of existence.
  5. The business, products, and services of the enterprise must fall into the classification of one of the four categories of the competition.
  6. A one-minute or less selfie video where you tell your story on camera: who you are; the name of your enterprise; your core business; what you need; and why you want to ‘realise your dream’.
  7. The contestant must be conversant and understand the English language.
  8. Enterprises with more than one active owner, please state the person who will be the pitching contestant and note the name of the partners in your application form. We cannot accommodate all partners for entrepreneurship workshops in May but they will be welcome at: the induction; prize giving and be able to attend the golden mentorship meetings.
  9. Contestants must attend all compulsory events, judging, prize giving, and mentorship programme meetings. Should a contestant be absent for any reason without approval, they will forfeit their position in the Competition and Programme – allowing another compliant contestant to step into the position.

Participation

  • The competition is conducted by Ladles of Love 203-599 NPO.

Terms and conditions:

  1. I hereby confirm that all the information provided above on the Realise A Dream (RAD) application form is true and factual. If found incorrect, I may be disqualified from the competition. I also declare that I have read and accept the terms and conditions for participating in this competition.
  2. I understand there will be 20 finalists and 4 winners will be selected and sponsored to receive training and selected prizes.
  3. I agree to receive communications from Ladles of Love and sponsors of the competition.
  4. I agree to allow photographs and videos of myself and my product to be used across media platforms for promotional purposes.
  5. I will be available all day on 11th, 12th, and 13th May 2022 should I be chosen to be a finalist to attend the entrepreneurship and training week. I will be available on 16th and 17th May 2022 for a ‘perfect your pitch’. I will also be available all day on 18th and 19th May 2022 for judging days and 20th May 2022 for official winners announcement and prize giving at Makers Landing at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.
  6. The competition entries run from 00:00 on 18th March 2022 and will close on the 25st of April 2022 at noon.
  7. No late entries will be accepted.
  8. To enter the competition, the official entry form must be completed in full and all terms and conditions accepted.
  9. A person/business may only enter once and for one category in the competition.
  10. No responsibility will be accepted for incomplete or delayed submissions.
  11. Of the total number of competition contestants, only 20 finalists will be shortlisted to pitch their product to the judges.
  12. The 20 finalists will receive a compulsory three-day entrepreneurship workshop training in preparation for the pitch to the competition’s official judges.
  13. On the 18th and 19th of May, finalists will be given 10 minutes to pitch their business plan and dream to the judges followed by a question and answer session.
  14. On the 20th May, a prize giving will be held and the head judge will announce one winner per each of the four categories.
  15. The judge’s decision on all four winners is final and cannot be contested.
  16. Prizes will be awarded in the form of products, services, training, or equipment and not cash.
  17. Prizes are not immediately redeemable.
  18. Prizes may not be transferrable to a third party or for cash.
  19. Ladles of Love is not responsible for the success of the winners’ product or business in the short or long term.
  20. It is compulsory for all finalists to be available to attend training, incubation, and judging on the above mentioned dates.
  21. All contestants, finalists, and winners agree to the use of their photographs and videos submitted as part of the entry for ‘Realise A Dream’ Competition publicity across all media.
